A small note .......racing at this facility on Fridays was originally perceived as a "joint sharing" effort by two clubs to promote track cycling in the south ,reducing the perceived focus on the "DROME" and a venue where prospective and new commissaires could train....A facility was held by the club with an indolent membership that resulted in its non-use. Another club ,with an abundance of officials (needed to run events as per CA requirements) was looking for a venue ....ying and yang?//you decide!!
The SHMCC will co host Track Racing this summer at the SHMCC's Edwardstown Memorial Oval Velodrome. The racing will be run by the South Coast Cycling club (with the "help" of SHMCC volunteers). Racing will be held on Friday nights starting on the 10th of October.(Club members wishing to assist please let Bryan or Mike know asap , we don`t want to give the impression that SCC do all the work, although they are very very good at organising and running these events)Perhaps it will inspire members to commit to similar programs .....in numbers there is a chance to actually do something and not be overwhelmed by inertia....... LOOKS LIKE INERTIA WINS
